Low flow on EHEIM 2213

Have had an EHEIM 2213 for about 5 years now, and now the water flow is very very low.

If I place only the pump head in water then the water flow is fine. If I attach it to the canister the flow reduced to almost a dribble.

The canister/filter material is absolutely clean, every part of it.

Is it possible that the magnetic drive is failing?

Sounds like a possibility. No clogs in any of the hosing or anything besides the media?

Have you inspected the impellor? Is the magnetic portion worn? Is the blade spinning freely? Any kinks in the hoses that can impede water flow? Edit to add sometimes air in the system cam hurt performance. If you have shutoff valves try running the filter output to a bucket [so the water doesn't have push up to the tank]. Run until no air and good flow. This doesn't sound like your issue i would more suspect a worn impellor.

I had the same issue. Turned out to be gunk in the hoses. Although not clogged or blocked, the friction or turbulence caused a serious flow issue. After running a brush through the hoses, flowed like new again. Now i have a spare impeller that i ordered while trying to figure out the issue. :)
