Millions of particles of dust in my 58 liter aquriuam it seems to be coming from my air stone or air pump which is in a diving helmet I've got. I don't have any fish in my tanks benn cycling for about two weeks now and I'm going on holiday in a week .
Any ideas for help I have a fluval u2 filter and a tetra aps50 air pump

Does your tank look foggy? Could be a bacterial bloom, post a pic of you can.

Sorry it's late at night so I can't post pic but the particles are really spaced out and disappear whenever I turn my air pump of

Hi. Is the decoration or airstone you’re talking about new? If it’s coming from decoration that you have the airstone in, and only when the airstone is on, I’d try rinsing it again.

Or depending on how the airstone is situated on the substrate you’re using, it might be the substrate getting dispersed by the airstone. Maybe lower the flow on the airstone or try different placements of the airstone if possible?

Are you sure it's dust? I just filled my new QT tank and it was super cloudy at first but it wasn't dust, it was teeeeeeeeeny air bubbles. Now there's little bubbles all over every surface and the water is clear. I'm wondering if that is what is happening, especially since you said it seems to be the air pump causing it.

Ok I will give it ago it's been running a few weeks now and it's just started bringing all the dust. All though it might be the substrate I'll have a check.

Thanks for the advice

That is what I it looks like

I don't see anything wrong in the tank.

Did this dust happen when you first started running the ornament or did it develop over time? I had an ornament in my grand daughter's betta tank that was sealed with something that was not designed to hold up in an underwater environment. I would remove that ornament and see if the problem stops. It can't hurt.

Saw the picture, bubbles and biological bloom. Will go away in a couple of weeks. Turn off the air pump until the biological bloom clears up, it will make the tank more visually appealing. It always looks worse than it is when the tank lights are on.

It goes away as soon as I turn the pump of because I can see it on the surface

what do you mean by " it goes away when I turn off the pump because I see it on the surface" ? Are you trying to say that it goes up to the surface of the water, and it is nowhere in the tank but the surface of the water?

Yes what ever it is when I turn my tank of it
the stuff goes to the surface and settles there but when I turn it on it all comes out again

But it isn't the bubbles come out of the top of the helmet and the microscopic particles come out after that

Then remove the helmet and check it out. Are you sure you cleaned it thoroughly before adding it to the tank?
