My feisty beloved Wink Jack Sparrow was found at the bottom of his tank by my hubby this morning. :'''( Wink had very suddenly
stopped eating about 3 days ago, and took to hiding in his "urn" decoration and looking out. His behaviour changed so suddenly : morning he was fine - eating swimming, knocking the snail of the wall of his tank- that evening he quit eating.
He had developed what I think may have been lymphocystis - a small odd looking thing on his dorsal fin. This didn't seem to affect him in any way, but I did a course of Maracyn Plus. I was not particularly concerned with this at first since he acted normal and was eating, and most of what I read said this was not fatal. How he could have contacted this I have no idea....everything was good in his tank.
I have already decided that one day I other will get a namesake betta, since his feisty attitude and spirit just has to be living on in another little guy who will get that 10 gallon tank Wink fooled me into all to himself.
It really sucks to start the new year this way. I will miss him.:''(
