Lost And Found Dog

Aside from me finding and told to keep a dime for the person's reasons of it, dad finding and returning/reporting $25k jet parts, a phone and even a 9mm Ruger hand gun. I was collecting snails and springtails when all of the sudden I see an all too familiar dog coming onto my lawn. I can't go long without a new thing happening I swear.

This wasn't my dog but one I knew since grade 7. His name was Speedy and how he wandered off the owner's property and all the way onto ours was absurd at first. This all happened yesterday.

I kept watch over him in our backyard for about 25 minutes, my brother and I did go to the owner's house and we did contact mom whom later arrived. The only tag on Speedy was a vet tag with one of the city of Calgary phone numbers. That and the normal number had all representatives busy with other people. I decided to walk Speedy back to that house. I was knocking on the door as car arrived and the owner had returned. He drove all over the neighbourhood to find him. The reason Speedy escaped was because it was super windy and the gate blew open. Mine did that a few times too so that is a thing.

I never met the owner(s) before so whether he living in a good home or not was all I wasn't sure of. I'm lucky to have returned him because no one in our block would have seen him, they would've been afraid of him, or keeping him. The owner was a nice old man and he was grateful I returned Speedy.

What's the story with the gun?!
He had found a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun. It wasn't a BB gun because the stuff written on the gun, the weight, and the magazine. A guy noticed him and told him he needed to talk to dad. This guy was possibly a dealer and owned a pit bull dog (who could smell Miley's scent on his clothes). I don't know the area but to dad, he only knew the way in and out the rest of the area was as he said "a circle". So finally he decided to give him back the gun but to ensure safety they did it in front of a TI'm Hortons where some security cameras outside could film it.
The deal was the guy would give him a couple (I think it was) "bundles" to return the gun. Dad placed the gun in a MacDonalds cup handed it to the guy who in turn gave dad four 50 dollar bills or 200 dollars. Cops patrol that area so before the gun was found a cop car had driven by. Here that kind of gun is mainly used by police. Guns are illegal here so the dealer must have stolen it from the police.
Dad never called the police but mom did. So they got retrieved dad from work to show the location it took place. It wasn't really a good return just dad didn't have a choice.

I copied and pasted the majority of this because I had already spoken about it to a few friends. I know I'm not supposed to share this story but it was a month ago and I find it fairly interesting.

I don't know for sure... All I was told about it was that dad found a box one night with the parts. The box did have the company's name on it so he took it home and contacted the company. They were supposed to be delivered via mail but either someone stole the parcel or the person in charge of the delivery took it. Of course it would be absurd to sell it on eBay or something so they just abandoned the package of parts. We didn't get any reward for returning them but in the end we did the right thing.
