Looks like it's snowing after water change?

So I did a 50% water change, which I do a few times a month, and this has never happened. But almost immediately noticed white particles all through my water, literally look like snow. Some was even settling at the bottom.

With the water change as I always do, I used aqueon water conditioner and tetra easybalance plus like I do with every water change.

It was hard for me to capture in photo, but I did. My glass is not dirty, so what you see is floating I, the water, and I even close up of it settling at the bottom. What's going on?

 

Well for whatever it worth. ...its already clearing up on its on....but still kinda worries me.

 

Did you add anything new to your water or your filter? I had an issue like this once when I added an ammonia-absorbing pad to the filter. (Hated the pad, btw, won't do that again.)

I'm sorry for going off-topic, but I bought the decoration in your picture yesterday and I'm stumped as to what to do with the big space in the top of it. Would you mind telling me, what is that plant that you have in there? Is it live? Thank you!

 

Test your tap water? Some water conditioners do that to get rid of toxic stuff. Maybe set out a large glass of tap water and see if it does that when adding your water conditioner

 

What size tank and what is it stocked with?
What are your parameters?
Do you use a gravel vac when doing water changes?
What is your water change schedule?

 

What kind of filter do you have and what media do you have in it? Could be time to rinse it out in dechlorinated tap or tank water or replace it if it's falling apart (after properly seeding it with new media).

 

My canister filter has periodically spit out white gunk into the tank when I turn it back on after a water change. Just throwing it out there. Glad it is clearing a bit.
