Looking to replace tiger barbs

I have a 55 gallon and I’m looking to add a schooling species to my tank to replace my tiger barbs as they are nippy. Any recommendation on a fish? I have cherry barbs that I’m growing out in another tank but they are to small. I have angels in the tank, which is my main worry. It also has some sharks, Denison barbs, pictus catfish, pleco, and clown loaches

Any other suggestions? I have a very dark scape and want something that will complement that.

Consider red serpae tetras.

I have about a dozen in our 65g community tank, among other tankmates.

They have been very hardy over the past 2-3 years of keeping them.

Not sure about compatabilities, but some of the larger species of rainbow fish are interesting and bring a pop of color, so would be too large to be eaten and could keep that color intensity that I’m assuming you liked in the barbs.
