Looking For New Light For 5.5 Gallon Aquarium

I have a 5.5 gallon aquarium and I plan on planting it, does any one have any good lights they would recommend that are relatively cheap. I saw one that was the deckey extendable blue and white led one, would that work. I only have one betta.

 

If you want to do it really on a budget, consider getting a desk lamp which accepts E26 bulbs and a 6000 or 7000K LED bulb.

I got this here for my planted bowl and the plants are growing like crazy.

Would the Deckey light work though?

 

With those Chinese knock offs it's a gamble. They could work very well or you will find yourself having LEDs failing within a few months (happened to me).
Good thing is they are cheap so you will not loose much.
For this price I would try it.

I think their metric is low returns and good reviews.
If the light works great the first couple month, a lot of people give it raving reviews. If the warranty is usually only for 90 days (like Beamsworks) and it fails after a year in service, nobody is returning it. You want to look for the reviews which describing the item 1 year and older. For Beamswork you will read a lot of flickering and burned out LEDs. Happened to me too after exactly 1 year.
I have not read all reviews for the Deckey though. You get what you pay for but this light is so cheap a yearly replacement would be acceptable IMO.
