90 Gallon Tank Looking for floating plants with light cover density

I was going to use red root floater for next my tank but would like to have a green alternative so once I have set up everything I can decide which one fits better, but since Red root floater doesnt create too dense a cover I was wondering which green floating plants are easy to keep light in their cover density? also roots that either dont get more more than 3-4 inches, or that the plant can handle me cutting down the roots down to 3-4 inches regularly, would be a plus.

Edit: I may have worded this poor I want a floating plant that doesnt block much light xD

 

I've used green foxtail in a 20 gallon for floating plants, long fluffy leaves so they blocked light pretty well and don't have long roots. They kind of bunch and tie together in to one big plant.

 

Hornwort maybe? It's easy to thin out, and doesn't have roots.

 

Water lettuce could be a possibility. Nice fluffy roots and broad leaves

I like roots, I just want to control their lenghts without killing my plants ^^

got any experience with controlling them? as I edieted I want to limit the amount of light they take up

 

Frogbit or salvinia should work for you. Roots don't get long but they're not hard to get rid of like tiny duckweed.
