Im looking for a new center piece fish for my 60 gallon, I already have 1 platinum gourami (male), 9 neon tetras, and a clown pleco. Idk if I should get another gourami thats female or get another type of fish

Maybe get 2-3 female platinum gouramis?

Id suggest getting a smaller South American cichlid such as an electric blue acara, a pair of kribensis, or a small group of apistogrammas. Cichlids are a lot of fun watch and are always active.

I agree with the above posts, either dwarf ciclids or some female gouramis. Also, a 60g can handle 1-2 big schools at least. I would increase your neons by around 10 and add a second school, maybe something that stays in the top half of the tank (in my experience neons always seem to stay in the bottom half).

Maybe consider a school of rainbow fish, a boesmani mail , givin some time to grow, would be be very beautiful. while the gourami could keep his title as centerpeice fish. and sure you could probobly add another gourami of the same species too.
