Looking For Advice from any Experienced Betta Breeders

Hello! I just purchased two beautiful Koi Galaxy Plakat males, but have not received them yet. So excited to see them in person!! (This is the first time I've ever purchased quality stock from a serious betta breeder, vs a pet store) I am seriously considering trying to breed one or both of these in the (probably) distant future. I've been doing some research, and still need to do much more research before I even think of starting, I'm sure. For now, I was wondering; do all koi bettas have the marbling gene? Do they generally hold their patterns or change over time? How do I account for this when/if I am selecting a female to pair one with? How can I judge the betta's form, and whether or not he would be good and genetically healthy to breed? What exactly is the difference between a koi and a galaxy, vs a betta with both of those words in their name? (The breeder had many examples of all three, but some of them looked very similar to me) For now I am not looking for opinions on whether or not to actually get into breeding, because I'm not even sure I'm going to do so yet. (Not a project to jump into lightly/blindly!!) However, I am very curious about the topics above, and would appreciate your advice!

Thanks for replying

So what makes a galaxy a galaxy? Is it pattern or color or both? The two males I purchased have red, white, blue, turquoise, and one has a little tiny bit of pink. Any advice on how to pick a female? And since these are koi galaxies (still don't know exactly what this means) does that mean that some of their offspring would just be koi, and some just be galaxy, and some be both?

your welcome if u have a koi galaxy and a normale galaxy u will get 50 % of one type and 50 % of the other the best way to pick a female is based on her size and colour look for a strong healthy swimmer no fin damge no eye damage no broken feelers and ask how old the female is its age should be around 5 months old

Do you know how to judge a betta's form? How important is it to breed for perfect form? Are there signs of genetic defects to look for when breeding? Aside from the extremely obvious, like kinked spines and whatnot.
