Looking for a Pirates of the Caribbean background or something piratey for my 36 gallon tank.
I can't seem to find any online that would fit that general description.

Any suggestions or sites to check out?

TIA! x

I got a half-sunk pirate ship wallpaper cling from PetSmart. It's blue. If you have the patience, get a pirate puzzle, put it together, and put it up.

I'll check them out. Do you have a screen shot of the wallpaper?

Thanks!

Actually, I looked at Petsmart but I don't think the sizes will fit. I need one at approx 18.5 tall by 32 wide

That's a great idea! I think I will check in to posters and see if there are any I can cut down to size. I wonder why there aren't many places online ( at least that I have seen ) with much variety on aquarium backgrounds?

Thanks for the suggestion!

Did you ever find your backgrund?

No, nothing yet. I am having trouble with the odd size 18 1/2 by 32.
I found a few online but they were not the theme I was hoping...

I recon just find a pic online you love, take a screenshot, and get it printed to your tanks dimensions and laminate. Shouldn't cost much and you'll get the effect you want .

If you've got a budget, maybe see if you can clear coat some coins and maybe grab some glass jewels or fake pearls (from craft shops or toy stores) for substrate - make your fish swim around treasure! .

Great idea! I am looking for some coins to add to the mix. I guess I should be careful its not copper..
As for the background, that too is a good idea - I'll check in to that -

Thanks!

I got plastic coins from Hobby Lobby. They have pirate ships on them. I boiled 'em and put them in the tank. I made my own plants for it, so I put them in the plants. It made an awesome effect! I even made a little coin tower.

Lol ok! The background I got from PetSmart was too big, so I had to measure and cut to get it to fit right. But it was worth the extra trouble. It kind of fits everything in.

What size tank is that? Every where I have looked, all the backgrounds are too "Small" - my tank is a 36 gallon and its about 18 1/2 inches high and then I need at least 33 inches across. Its kind of an odd size - seems there are backgrounds that go 24 inches but then they are not long enough........

Let me measure real quick, I'm pretty sure it's like a 40 though....

Edit- 3ft x 171/2 in.(including trim)

So 17 1/2 across? That's about the sizes I have been seeing in store and on line but I don't seem to find anything that's 33 inches across....... someone mentioned using a poster - I may have to go that route too.....

Well I am off fish shopping today
Gonna get some Zebra Danios, another cory catfish and a couple of plecos

Tank additct - that looks very neat, well done!

Glad you like Junne - have fun shopping. PS check out some of the dollar shops too. You might find some cool piratey items there to clear coat or a cheap ceramic jug you can break and sink, make a cool swim through (if you can avoid sharp edges..).
