Looking for a mail order Discus supplier that is reputable with healthy fish

Looking for a mail order Discus supplier that is reputable with healthy fish. Got my husband a 55 gal tank for fathers day since he has not had a tank for over two years because we move for my job. We had Discus fish before and fell in love. Not only are the beautiful, they also have the most wonderful personalities. Unfortunately one of the only fish stores around only has large discus and we would prefer to raise them from 2" size.

I agree, I was the same way when I joined. I've learned a lot from members on this website, been given great advice from people and I'm constantly learning new things.

There are other Discus dealers but Hans was the first one that came up to my mind. Others will join in shortly giving you their recommendations. There is also a Discus section in this website with tons of information.

 

never got discus but all other fish iv gotten from here are the best iv seen.

 

I like to look at Aquabid discus. So far the best deals I've seen are from this guy - . Just click on the underlined name and it will show you his fish.

The pics are amazing from the common discus strains ...... having a little bit of a difficult time trying to choose which ones to bring in first!

 

Sorry but don't touch live aquaria discus with a 10ft pole.

3 names for you that I would recommend off the top of my head. Kenny Cheung, Mike Beals, and Discus Hans. All 3 are sponsors on Simplydiscus. Hans does wholesale and private sales and always has fish in stock, Kenny and Mike both bring in one shipment per month and the fish go fast. Got a chance to hang out and talk with Mike in person this past weekend, such a nice guy with outstanding fish. I have had fish from Hans and Kenny, and going to be ordering from Mike soon enough. I'e talked to all in depth either on the phone or in person, all give great customer service.

Kenny's forum on simply. He posts a sales thread once a month with prices and pictures and can be contacted by email, pm, or phone to order. You won't find a bad review of Kenny I promise you.

Not trying to promote Simplydiscus or push it on your or anything, but its simply the best place to go to find a vendor of discus in the states. Most of the good ones are sponsors over there and have a subforum. Someone else you may want to look at is New Jersey Discus, Rod and Bob. Met them this past weekend too, I was impressed really really nice guys and they mentioned they are bringing in a shipment of small fish (3.5-3" range) probably in about a week or so. They have a subforum as well.

 

I don't even own any discus... yet lol. so I believe you and will probably try the ones you suggested when I get some discus. I'm just curious if you tried aquaria discus or heard bad things? I can only go off what iv done/ordered and they have gave me great RCS, yoyo loaches, and neon tetras. not a huge list of fancy fish but again all iv used them for. would you say there other fish are a good quality or no? just asking thanks.
