I'm originally from upstate NY, and some of our friends told us how bad it is there... my sympathies to you!

Upstate NY is very nice - I like going there in the summer (and in the winter too!) Also like PA's Poconos very much.
Where did you move from Upstate?

You're lucky to have them this close to you! I have to take a lot of my time off (and first of all, have to have that free time, lol) to go to Poconos. That's why I usually go there when I have a few days off. Same with going Upstate NY.

Isabella, I was born and raised in Endicott, right outside Binghamton and maybe a half hour south of Syracuse near the PA border. I moved my mom down here to Florida about 10 years ago, right after my step-dad died.
Are you upstate or in the city?

I'm sorry about your step dad. I hope you like it in FL - it's very nice there. As for myself, I don't live Upstate. I live in Long Island. But I want to move out from NY one day too. I mean, maybe not completely away from NY State, but definitely away from NY City! Long Island is right by NYC, which I don't like. I really don't like NYC! Upstate NY would be nice, as would be PA, CT, or some Northern states like Maine, Massachusetts, or Vermont. I love Colorado and Alaska too! I also would LOVE to see entire Canada and Australia! And ... like entire Europe too ... lol.
Maybe I should simply go "around the world in 80 days", hehe.

I travailed Europe when I was in the army... Germany was beautiful, as was Great Britain. I didn't like France much, but it's mostly the people. Talk about bad attitudes. Probably the prettiest was Northern Italy, near the alps.
Some year, when I retire, I'm thinking of moving to North Carolina, and buying a house in the mountains. Of all the places I've visited, it's definitely the most beautiful, and my favorite.

We had 2 days of heavy snow here a few weeks back then suddenly it turned to spring and was boiling and now suddenly today it's freezing again and is sleeting. lol. Its all very weird. My science teacher put it down to global warming . I hope it snows again! It'l mean a day off school! YAY!!!!! ;D

Gwenz,
Your teacher is an idiot! How can Global Warming be causing one of the COLDEST winters on record???

I have to agree with Jim. Global warming means it gets warm. No snow no cold no nothing. Glaciers will melt and cause the world to flood.
