I noticed today that my honey gourami has a long string of poop hanging around. It's the first time I've seen it. Is this parasites? I read that string poop means parasites, but that it also has to be white? It is compeltely brown.

Imgur

Any recommendation on medication if it is indeed parasites? I got neon tetras, a platy, other 2 dwarf gouramis, cory catfish and 2 big mystery snails, so I guess I need a safe medication for all these inhabitants. I could also move him to a hospital tank, if needed.

Thanks guys.

Cool, thanks. So stringy poop can be normal on some fish?

Black, brown, dark green stringy poop is normal for all fish.

White stringy poop can be a sign of parasites, but can be just mild constipation.

I've seen it on perfectly healthy fish.

If I saw the same fish have white stringy poop over several days I'd be concerned.
