Local Alternatives To Ial?

HI everyone, I was wondering if there was an alternative to Indian Almond Leaf or oak leaves for my tank, my lfs sells a pack of 3 leaves for $13+, and there are no oak trees that I have seen around my neighborhood, (northern California suburb). I do have fig trees, an avocado, lemon, orange, plum, and nectarine, and olive trees in my yard, will any of those work? Or does it have to be oak or IAL?

 

Check on Ebay, there are a few listings that are pretty cheap for Indian Almond Leaves.

 

Fall is almost here and you have so many national forests in N Cal, I would be checking those out for oak leaves in the interior (Less chance of any chemicals etc) In the mean time, I'd keep checking amazon.

Never trusted eBay, and PayPal has been not good to me, had my accounts taken over one time through them....

I'd like to go to the forests, but my schedules don't let me go farther than a few city parks... I do have some dutch elm trees up and down my street...

 

I'd be very weary of picking leaves off of any tree, you don't know what those leaves have or haven't been exposed to. I personally think it's best to order IAL online. There are many reputable sources to get leaves from. I pay $5.40 for a pack of 20 nine inch leaves.

 

You can go to aquabid, I got a pack of 50 leaves for 14$ shipped (from another country, so it took them a bit). Or I can sell you some of the ones I have, lol, I don't use them that much.
