Livebearer ID?

TheNacho

Saw this cool fish in my LFS. Was only told that it's either a molly, a platy, or a mix of both. Can anyone ID?

It's a black lyretail molly. A molly variant with such a tail is called lyretail.
The body shape of a platy is not like that. Also mollies and platies don't cross breed. A fish can't be a mix of molly and platy.

I have to ask, is there a name for the variety with those long, flowy pectoral fins? Never seen any that long!

They look like betta fins!

Some lyretail mollies get the genes for longer ventral fins, I've seen it on more females than males.
