Live Rock Stacking

I'll start off by saying... I really don't like the look of live rock. I don't like when it looks like someone dropped a rock into the aquarium and like the water is mostly about the rock. That being said, I've been trying to come up with new and weird ways to arrange live rock in my aquarium. I came across a bunch if live rock "branches" while shopping. I'm thinking if I collect enough of them, I could use them like real branches and make a teepee out of them, like you would make a campfire.
Another idea I had was to stack those same branches in a box formation...?
I'm just wondering, if I do these and make sure they're really stable, are there any other problems I could face? Is there a reason most people don't do it this wat? And are the branches the same benefit-wise as the same weight in the slab rocks?

Generally a mix of different sizes of live rock gives you a mix of different ways to arrange them. Not sure on what you mean by "Branches" do you have a link? The only caution I will give you is to make sure that you setup the rock to make sure you get good flow going in and around the rocks for current or you will have problems with Cyano (ugly red slime bacteria) or worse Dino (looks like Red Hair algae) and both can be a pain to get rid of once you have them.

I’m guessing something like this live rock as opposed to the more rounded forms.

sounds like tonga. There's tons and tons of different options for rockscaping. Trust me, the basic wall of rock imo looks terrible. Epoxy+time can make some killer scapes. Check out this scape I built with regular dry reef saver rock from BRS
