Live Plants in Snail Tank

SnailLVR

I purchased a live Java Fern for my Gold Inca Snail aquarium. I am trying the supposed "snail free" plants that come in a tube. The last live plant I bought must have had snail eggs attached somewhere because after 2 weeks, I had a bunch of baby snails in the tank. It says to gently rub off any excess gel from the plant. It has A LOT of that gel stuck to the roots and it took me a long time to try to get it off under running water. Does anyone know if that gel will harm my snail or change the water parameters if there is any amount of that gel still on the plant?

the gel shouldn't harm your tank at all. I believe its water based and its never hurt my aquariums. I wouldn't worry about it, but I know a lot of times those plants aren't actually snail free :p

You're right, I again have a ton of baby bladder snails!
