Live Foods good for Goldfish and Betta

I was wondering what live foods are good for goldfish and bettas alike? I have no experience culturing live foods but was going to look into it as I also hope to start a business breeding and selling feeder animals and insects. Might as well add live foods for fish to the list. These were the ones I read briefly about that I was considering.

Vinegar eels
Blackworms
Daphnia

Are these easily cultured indoors? Where can I get good starter cultures?

I was going to suggest mosquito larvae but I'm not sure how easy it is to culture them indoors! I know that the females grown in laboratories are fed on artificial "blood" but I have no idea if it's available to the general public. They are a favourite live food though

For mosquito larvae, I was thinking of just setting up some outdoor containers of stagnant, dechlorinated water and fishing them out with a very fine net. There are PLENTY of mosquitos around my house as we have a large drainage ditch on the side of the house that always has stagnant water.

Also, this is slightly off topic but still on the subject of food. Is it possible to culture algae for use in fish foods? I feed my BN pleco algae wafers and I thought about making some homemade ones for him. Is this possible? Has anyone ever done this?

I wouldn't be surprised. I would be concerned about growing the right kind of algae though and ensuring it didn't become contaminated with bacteria or fungus, or even toxic kinds of algae.

That was one of my concerns. I'll have to do some research on it and see if its possible. I'm also going to try and do some research on the live foods I mentioned above. Just wondering if anyone had any other ideas.
