Sometimes laying out plastic tarps with water will get you all kinds of stuff, mainly mosquito larvae but also bloodworms most of the time. You can get a jar of tank water and put some blanched vegetables and put it in sunlight and you'll grow some infusoria

I left out some green water in a milk jug that I got from a pond. I’ll post pics, if anything happens (probably mosquito larvae). I’m hoping for bloodworms.

 

Like a painters tarp or something, something similar to this will do:
