I’ve been meaning to upgrade the lights on my planted sorority and may have found something that will work. I know it is aimed for saltwater tanks.

I’m aiming for medium lighting and open for other options. This is priced at 100$ so cheaper would nice.

Solarmax is a good light. They don't last as long as standard florescent lighting and cost more, but they're intensity is higher than florescents. It's roughly a $25.00 bulb, where florescents are probably 4 for $25.00. Solarmax is good for plants that require stronger light.

Ahh I just can't win. Perhaps I will look into LED of some sort. I already have a cheapo LED beams work but it seems more suitable for a 10 or 20gal long. A taller tank just does't go well with the lights I have now. I've heard of people using LED flood lights (for outdoor use) and having good results.
