Light blocking, floating plant

HI all!

Looking for a floating plant that will grow easily in low tech, low light. Since getting my different tank light my betta is able to see his reflection more and is doing a lot of flaring and glass surfing. I don't want to stress him so much, but I have other plants I'd like to keep alive. I'm also open to plants that can be placed in an aquarium but that aren't necessarily aquatic plants, I think pothos is commonly used?

I also really like the plant that looks like a very fine fern but I often see it floating... Upside down? I can't figure out what it is nor do I know it's light requirements.

Any suggestions?

Maybe water lettuce. I know a clump of hornwort can create a shady area. You could also use duckweed so it creates a blanket on the surface, but let's some light through

Any advice on how to sort of control a floating plant? So it doesn't just get blown away from the filter? Or do you just wait till it grows in and let it be pushed around?

You could use a feeder ring

Second the hornwort, looks pretty as some sinks a bit, super easy to grow... I have some of mine tucked behind my heater to anchor it...
