Hey everyone,
Wondering how long you think or have seen a rts live.
I've seen online 5-8yrs, up to 15, 5-10 ect.
I've had mine around 3 and he's deffinatly stopped growing.
He's now 5-6inches.

I don't know about the red tail shark's lifespan specificaly but in my experience with fish in general they can and do live longer than a lot of books or websites say. I've seen fish that will live a long while even after they've stopped growing.

Good morning,

My Rainbow Shark, similar to the Red Tail Shark is pushing 10 years old. He/she is about 5" to 6" long.

I too have heard around 15 years. But, there are so many variables that can shorten life. Health, cleanliness of tank, proper maintenance, properly stocked, properly filtered, etc.
