Let Anarcharis Aerial Roots Root?

I added some anarcharis to a new cycling tank and I'm about 11 days into it. I have them planted instead of floating and there's some melting, but only toward the bottom planted quarter of the stem.

They've started growing aerial roots and was wondering if I should let them root? Will it benefit the plant to get more nutrients if its rooted that way?

Also I'm just assuming these plants are melting, I've never done a planted tank before. I have anubias, java fern, dwarf hairgrass, and a lily in addition to the anarcharis and they've all survived fairly well.

IME, anacharis doesn’t melt, it dies. If you planted it into the substrate then the whole stem will die, not sure why. What I do is let the plant float and where it ends up, it stays and starts rooting. Rooting will only benefit the plant if you have a substrate with nutrients available.

Should I let it float for a bit and replant it once I start using nutrients or leave it to float? Should I cut off the dead part?

I would float it. What are you using as an ammonia source to cycle your tank? Anacharis will use the ammonia as a food source until you can get ferts, normally you don’t need it for this plants as long as your stock is producing enough waste.

Just pure ammonia dosed to 4ppm, redosing up to 4ppm when it hits 1ppm.
