Left Plants Out Of Water For 12 Hours - I Messed Up

Alright, so I accidentally left my plants out of water for like 12 ish hours. I feel terrible and really hope they will pull through but what’s everyone’s opinions on what I should do?

 

I would suggest (obviously) putting them in water then giving them a double dose of the required nutrients. I don't know much about plants such as these but that worked for me.

It depends on the plant, but many aquarium plants are initially grown out of water. It helps them grow faster. If they completely dried up, that's an issue. But if not, they just got more O2/CO2 than they would underwater, and they might die back/have a melt when re-submerged, then pull through OK.

Some of them look okay, some not so much. The buce seemed unphased. The java fern has perked up some, some of my dwarf sag seems okay and the crypt seems okay. The hornwort, ludwigia and anarchis seem to be gone though. Unfortunately I think I’m gonna have to replace them

 

ludwigia can be grown as a bog plant, so I'm surprised it was even phased--maybe give it a few days to see if it will recover? The hornswort and anacharis losses don't surprise me as much

 

If the ludwigia was in its submersed form, it dies just as easily, because it takes days to weeks of gradual emersion with high humidity to convert to emersed.
From personal experience, the buces will melt away once you put them back in, but if the rhizomes stay alive they should grow back.
