Leeches in freshwater fish tank

Swillecke42

I recently noticed 3 small leeches on one of my freshwater fish. Tried to remove them with a tweezers but they are basically transparent put of the water and it's too much stress on the fish to remove again and would like to not do that again. What would be the best way to get rid of the leeches in the tank? I'm sure there are more of them. They are really small. What can I do without harming the fish. I've seen mixed reviews online about them. Also, not much information out there on chemical treatments but for sure don't want to harm the fish. How should I get rid of them?

Prazipro is a relatively harmless medication that might help your situation.

I have prazipro coming Monday. I manually removed the leeches on the fish and am worried about infection. Can I use an antibiotic after to be safe? Would fishbiotics amoxicillan work? I appreciate any guidance

Probably not a good idea to use standard antibiotics. It will put a big dent in the benificial bacteria and likely cause a mini cycle.
Maybe dose a botanical antibiotic such as Microbe Lift Artemiss.
