Led Lighting For Low To Medium Plants

So I have recently (well today) upgraded my lighting from a red boyu led to a 20watt ip65 flood light seems pretty bright l. Specs are 20w 6500k and 2000 lumens. Its in my 35gallon. Seems perfect, (if not let me know why) I plan on adding low to medium plants... As I'm sipping on some cider watching the massive difference in fish and brightness I thought hey why not add 2 little 10w leds as well. Let me know if this is overkill as the 10ws are 6000k 800 lumens. Thanks fish family

Without knowing the PAR values, what I do is just see how it goes! Pics?

Without a PAR meter, you can't, and that's my point - you'll just have to add some low light plants and see how it goes. I would imagine you'll have no issues with low light plants, but medium light plants may be harder.

I see yes. Is there any plants that you would recommend except java moss/fern and hornwort. In south Africa its quite hard to find decent plants as you guys post about

What do you have available? We can help you figure out if they'd be a good option to try or not (rather them us list off a bunch of plants that aren't available to you).

You said it's hard to find the species we often post about here on this forum, but now you're saying you can have access to almost all of them? I'm confused which it is.

Sorry I meant I have access to most low-medium plants. Should've been more specific

So I've got this for now. Planning on getting some crypts this weekend. Hornwort was going cheap... Is the one on the right java fern just to confirm.

What's the one in the pot? Take it out, most plants won't do well long term in the pots they came in.

That's the one I'm trying to figure out.. I have no clue what it is looks like java fern... Once I know what it is then I can remove it and plant it in

You can remove it without knowing what it is. Remove it and take a pic of the base of the plant and the roots please.

I will do that when I get home tonight. The reason why I don't want to remove it just yet is because I want to keep my tank all natural no co2 no liquid fert none. If this plant does require anything else I might as well return it

Plants require things. If they are lacking too much of one or more, they won't do well. No use adding them if you're not going to care for them. Adding ferts is replicating a natural process though, because in the wild these plants grow using ferts found naturally. We're recreating that by adding ferts. You don't need to add CO2 to have a planted tank though.

If you're not going to fertilize it, return it. You won't do well with root feeding plants then.

What is a bacoma? Doesn't look like bacopa, if that's what you're referring to.

No I mean I bought bacopa today the plant I sent a picture of I have no idea what it is

Can you get a full picture of it? We can help.

I know a lot of people brag about not using ferts, but why would you starve your plants and make it tougher on them, when ferts would make them healthier and grow better?

That's the best I can do as I planted them back in. I do understand south Africa is just pricey with fertz

Looks like a sword (possibly Amazon?) to me! Make sure to put root tabs below it. They're heavy root feeders.

I see yes thanks so much. Sorry I took long having an issue with the app loading. Good news though found a 20 gallon tank laying around my complex today so my fry have a new home.
