Leaky Tank??!!

I've noticed over the past couple of days that I'm having to top off a lot of water on my 55 gal tank. I was looking around again today and I suspect that one of my seals in the back corner of the tank is failing. There is a bit of water on the outside of the tank. So, I have a few questions....

Is there any "quick fix" to mend it until I can get some aquarium safe caulking?
Once I get the caulking, does anyone know how many days it takes to cure?

How in the HECK did it get a leak already, I've only had it for about a year, maybe a little less actually!!??

I don't know any temporary fixes but most caulks take about 24 hours to cure but recommend waiting 48 hours just to be safe. Read over the instruction just to be safe though

Good luck with your (leaky) tank!

I'm doing more hunting, I've just found more water on the bottom part of the middle window. I have the tank in a kind of "bay" counter that is in front of the windows. I'm starting to wonder if it is the window leaking when it rains or the snow is melting. I'm trying to figure out something that I could put under the tank hoods to keep the evaporation at minimum (they are crappy hoods) and see if it is actually the tank or the window. Either way I'm starting to get a headache!

I know you probably don't want to hear this but when it comes to aquarium's there is no 'quick' fix, silicone will not adhere to wet or damp surfaces.

What I meant was there a way to make sure it didn't get any worse before the caulking came in. I know that silicone won't stick to anything that is wet. I was trying to figure out how long I was going to have to house my cichlids and rainbow shark in an emergency container. Now that I'm really looking around though, I don't think it is my tank, I think it is my window....which is awesome for my fish (and me in a way) but at the same time, it's not so awesome. Thank you though!

I'm glad that it does not sound like a tank leak.
If it was, I wonder if some of the highly advertised "Flex Seal" brushed on the outside in the leak area would work until a proper repair, or tank replacement, can be done?

Great news! It is NOT my tank!ops:
It is the window and since it is going to be a little bit "nicer" out this weekend, it can be fixed this weekend. Headache gone

I was wondering the same thing Ski, if I could use wax or gorrilla tape or just something! Luckily I have time to research it now, in case it does ever happen.
