Leaf zone and other fertilizer options

Is there anything better than leaf zone that I can use as a fertilizer. Something that has more of nutrients that plants need?

Also if I have some leaves on my anubias, that have the tips yellowing or have a pin hole in them...should I remove them? and if so should I remove the stem of the leaf too?

thanks

Leaf zone and flourish are the same thing, they're micro ferts.
I'd get dry ferts and mix my own since it's more customizable and much cheaper.

Here's a fert calculator:
Rotala Butterfly | Planted Aquarium Nutrient Dosing Calculator

If you don't want the hassle of mixing your own you could use either of these.

No, they are not. Leaf zone has only Potassium and Iron while Flourish Comprehensive has a bit of everything (minus carbon), just not enough macros (NPK).
Flourish comp is counting on fish food/waste for N and P and is a good choice for a fully stocked tank with few, slow growing plants but not enough for a planted tank with few fish.

i'm going to go ahead and get the flourish comprehensive....but what do you guys think of removing the leaves that have holes in them or have a little yellowing? and if I remove them, how should I do it..?

aniroc, you're right. Leaf Zone only has iron and potassium, but thinking about it, iron is the target trace when dosing micro ferts. In Tom Barr's low tech EI dosing method, he doesn't even use something like CSM+B for micros, he just uses Seachem Equilibrium for the micros which increases GH and adds iron, manganese, and potassium, as well as KNO3 and KH2PO4.

@, why don't you consider dry ferts? Something like Plantex CSM+B is much cheaper and basically the same stuff as Flourish Comp. It's just that Flourish Comp. has water added to it already. You could also get KNO3 and KH2PO4 to cover your macro nutrients as well.

As for the leaves, you could remove them since they're unlikely to go back to full health. Damaged leaves often don't "heal" themselves. The plant just grows new ones. To remove, cut the stem off at the base of the rhizome.
