L number Pleco ID please :)

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting an L number pleco for my planted community tank (55G) and have been exploring the options at my LFS. I really like the L134 Leopard Frog pleco, but it is too expensive here in Australia.

I'm wondering if someone can please help ID this guy though, in the first photo. It is in a tank with L333s (see the second photo, pleco sitting under a log) and L201s. It doesn't look typical for an L333 from what I can tell, and certainly looks different from the other striped juveniles in the tank (and obviously it's not an Orinoco Angel).

Any ideas??

Thanks

No expert, but guessing based off stock I've seen around recently, maybe one of the several "false zebras"? Look at L129 and L173b-- I'm not finding exact matches for the patterning, but they seem to have some variation within type.

Thanks. They do have L129s in a different tank there, beautiful specimens too, but they also look a little different from this black and white guy. I've not seen L173b before - will look them up now.

Does make me think of the L129, but those are a little more brownish on the stripes than black

I'm thinking maybe a L236, after having a search through Planet Catfish
