Kuhli Loach Trap

I am in the process of moving my kuhlI loaches to a new tank. I have been using a diy trap made by cutting the top half off a water bottle and sticking it in the opposite way. I have caught all but 1 this way, and even after setting the trap with blood worms every night for a week, I still haven't caught the solo loach. Does anyone else have any recommendations? I feel bad he's alone for so long.

Most things I see online essential say either do what I'm doing or go at them with a net. My tank is heavily planted and has lots of driftwood, so I avoid using nets when possible because it just makes a mess of things. Plus I've tried netting kuhlI loaches before and I'm not sure there's anything in this hobby I've encountered that's more frustrating.

What if you put a decent sized net sitting in the tank and put some food in the net and quickly lift it up when they go inside? I've always caught mine using 2 nets and draining the water as low as possible.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I've got some hungry blood parrots in the tank, so I'd be much more likely to catch those before the loach willingly comes out. Since he's now alone, I never see him with the lights on or when I'm by the tank

It took me 30 minutes to catch 13 baby ones from a QT before. Use 2 nets and lure them into either one

Hour and a half sounds closer to my experience, with babies and adults. Unless I take everything out of my tank, trying to net this guy isn't feasible. It's a 120 gallon, quite well planted and full of decor. Its really hard to catch the mid level fish when I need to, and its impossible to maneuver a net across the bottom of my tank with the current set up.

Looks like ill just stick with setting the trap every night. Thanks for the suggestions though!
