I've been reading that we can feed veggies and fruits to our fish. I have what is starting to look like a mated pair of kribs, three green tiger barbs and one albino tiger barb. I'm looking for suggestions, advice on what kinds of veggies & fruits and how to prepare them? How long to leave in tank etc? Just pretend I know nothing. Lol. TIA!

ZucchinI , cucumbers , boiled peas and spinach are good for fish's health. Not sure about fruits because sometimes they cause acidic. You can leave the vegetables approximately for 24 hours.

I have also read you can include canned green beans too or frozen/fresh broccolI and carrots!

If you find they are too hard for the fish raw you can blanch them in some water in the microwave for a minute to soften them up - just don't leave them in there too long or they will fall apart in the tank.
Just attach them to a veggie clip or rock to make it sink and the fish will pick at them.

For peas make sure they are shelled and you can just drop them in - they sink.

By shelled, do you mean individually peeled or like they are? What about frozen green beans or peas? And how much, how often should they get any?

With peas once you toss them in the water and microwave them for a minute you will find the shell to peel off. This is hard to digest and should be discarded.

You can use frozen! Just defrost and de-shell the peas

You can feed them peas, veggies, etc, once or twice a week - it is also great if you notice a fish seems constipated, clears them right out. It shouldn't be their regular diet but a supplement to be given sometimes.

And with how much - just feed them how you would their usual diet - only how much they can eat within 2 minutes. Fishes stomachs are about the size of their eye, so they don't need much.

Does zucchinI need to be cooked to feed? Can I just slice a piece off and clip it?

Usually I slice a piece off, pop it in a cup of water in the microwave for 15 seconds or so and then rubberband it to a rock and place it in the tank.

I leave it in for 24-48 hours then remove once they have nibbled their fill.

It may be too hard un-blanched to feed, so they may need to work hard to get any of it off
