Kribensis dynamics

Hello, I recently got 1 male and 2 female Kribensis. One female has paired up beautifully with the male. They’re always galavanting around displaying their beautiful colors. The other female, however, is treated horribly by the male. He dive bombs her and relentlessly chases her around the tank to where she’s worn out with little color.

Do I buy a couple more females to help the bullying of this lonely female? Or should I just remove her?

They’re in a 40 breeder with some white cloud minnows. I could move her to a 75 gallon community tank, but do they do well as a solo?

Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there!

I dont think adding more females will help. Personally id remove the lone female before she is killed, but others may have other tips on how you could make it work.

Remove her. Kribs aren't particularly social & she'll appreciate not getting beaten up. They aren't harem breeders like some Apistogrammas; 1 female per male is for the best.

Agree, with most Pelvicachromis it's the females that fight for a males. A group of one female and 3 males is more likely to work out than a male with more than one female. And please don't try this at home. This was just for comparison.

I had this problem and I surrendered the 2nd female Kripensis back to my fish store to prevent any further problems
