Hey guys, my Krebs just had their first batch of fry. Ive never ever had fish breed before so im clueless. Whats the best action to take. Ive seen people say seperate them from the parents after a while? but ive nowhere to put them at all (All my tanks are full and ive no room for more )
Yes new parents. I knew they were gonna breed and just seen the fry today for the first time. The only other fish in the tank are Zebra danios. I dont gave specialized foods for the fry as my LFS said they are mouth bearers and will feed the fry themselves with their food. Not sure if true or not
They will survive just fine. Kribs are exceptional parents. Feed the parents as you normally would and whatever is expelled through the gill plates is what the fry will pick off. When the lights are off you'll see the female parade the fry around the tank to feed on algae and whatever else they can find. I've never done anything special for krib fry and they grow like weeds with the parents.
Yeah theyve been escorting them around the tank all day
The next question i have is, what next. If they survive and grow into adults, what can i do then. Like i said i dont have the space for another tank. And the tank the 2 parents are in is only 70 Litres.
