Kitchen counter top fish tank?

Hi all. I currently have one 5 gallon tank on one part of my counter and a 6 gallon tank on another part.
I've been considering upgrading my 5 gallon to a 10 or bigger if possible, if the counter allows it obviously. So does anyone know if it'll be okay to go ahead and put up a bigger tank?

Perhaps a picture will provide some additional information, as it depends on the individual counter-top, however you should be okay

 

Should be fine. Counters are generally strong enough for such things. I would be more worried in my mind about whether there is space enough under the cabinets!

 

Just don't put it over the dishwasher. It may vibrate the tank or heat up the water.

I was originally worried about the space too, but there's a good bit that allows easy access. Until it comes to pouring water in the tank, that gets difficult hah

Thats kind of inportant...but where there is a will, there is a way.

 

While kitchen countertops can hold some kitchen microwaves and other kitchen appliances and if I can stand on the countertop, there is no reason that a properly installed countertop could not hold a 10gl tank.

 

Have you noticed if the temperature in the tank stays stable when you use the oven?
