Killifish Fry Not Eating Baby Brine?

So my killifish is over a week old but refuses to eat baby brine shrimp.

The fry just spits them back out. Maybe too small yet to handle them?

I know hes eating as he has a nice white bulging stomach. Also feeding him micro worms.

Any suggestion on why he won't be eating them?

Maybe he is still a tad little. Or he likes the microworms better. He’ll soon figure out there’s more than one thing to eat out there. Just watch that belly. Don’t let him get too big.

If they can take it into their mouth, they can swallow it. I've never heard of fry that turned down bbs for microworms, but it is possible.

I’ve never fed microworms. I don’t much care for feeding worms of any kind. Just a personal icky.

Microworms aren't really worms as most people think of them. They are nematodes, sometimes called roundworms. I probably shouldn't mention that you have them on/in your body already, as nematodes are one of the most numerous lifeforms on the planet. I believe I once read that if everything except the nematodes suddenly vanished, there would still be a ghost of everything by the nematodes that they contained.

Sleep tight!

Unfortunately I know all too well what’s in/on our bodies. And our food. Let’s just say it was a while before I could eat cheddar again.

I still think of nematodes as worms. I guess anything that reminds of nematodes are worms. Earthworms are cute and fascinating.

Back to topic. Why do these fry not like shrimp?

I do have one question for HerrwibI : are these live brine shrimp nauplii, or frozen? I assumed they were live since you were feeding microworms already, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I think frozen might be less tasty to the fry than live, but if they are live bbs, then I'm still stumped.

HI Chrome . Thanks for helping out . Yes the bbs are live . Just don't understand it . The fry is munching away happily on microworms . He isn't all that big maybe about 6/7 mm in size just of a rough guess . I'm hoping to try bring the microworm away and try baby brine tonight.
