Just wanted to know if anyone has use KENT Garlic Xtreme, Just got it in today and had a few questions. The instructions say 2 drops per tea spoon per feeding, How long do I let it sit to soak into the food before feeding it to the fish? How often do I use this product? Every feeding or just a couple of time per week? They also say it can go directly in the water 1 drop per 10 gallons. Would you put it in there food and in the water? If I did put it in the water should I remove the carbon bag in the filters? Sorry about going on but one of my male Angels is a little beaten up, He is in his own tank now and I would like to start the garlic treatment as soon a posable x

I've never used garlic Xtreme but I assume it's very similar to garlic guard.

It depends on what type of food you're soaking. For pellets or flakes, only a minute or so. For freeze dried foods 3 or more minutes would be a good amount. Most people use garlic guard a few times per week. Ken (aquarist48) uses it on a regular basis so he may have a better answer.

I would recommend against adding it to the water unless treating a sick fish. Yes, remove the carbon if you're using it to treat torn fins. If you're doing weekly water changes, carbon isn't really necessary anyway.

Hope this helps!

It's a hit or miss. Most local fish stores I've been to carry it but some don't.

You could order online, or use fresh minced garlic in the jar (in water) or obviously use fresh garlic lol.

Hey Ken if you are around could you let me know how you use the Garlic Xtreme. My Angel has a few peck marks on his side and his lip is puffy with a bit of damage. So still now sure if I should put the garlic in the water, He is in a 30-35 gal hex by himself so should I add 3 drops of garlic like the instrurions say ??? Or just in his food. He does still seem to be eating well at this time, flake and bloodworms

Good morning,

I use Garlic Guard 2 or 3 times per week on the fishes treats such as freeze dried krill, Red Shrimp and Earth worms all freeze dried and presoaked. I'll soak the foods for 20 to 30 minutes. I dilute the Garlic Guard with a little bit of water.

I've never used the Garlic Guard on flakes or pellets. Seems like they may get mushy so I use it on the treats. Too, I've never added it directly to the tank, only on the foods.

Too, I add Vita Chem along with the Garlic Guard for addition vitamins and to boost the overall health:

Another option is using Garlic Juice from minced garlic:
https://www.fishlore.com/aquariumfi...r-just-an-example-for-those-needing-it.62705/

Recipe to make your own garlic juice:

"Benefits of garlic:

Purifies blood; detoxifies; lowers cholesterol levels; lowers blood pressure; blood thinner; prevents blood clots; boost immune system; prevents heart disease and strokes; destroys cancer cells; muscle relaxant; antibiotic; antifungal; suppresses growth of tumors
Using a medium size bulb; peel cloves apart, snip off ends; microwave cloves for 5 to 10 seconds to pop hulls; remove hulls; cut the length of the cloves in thin slices; place in cup of hot (from tap) water; cover, and let sit at room temperature for 12 hrs; mash the cloves and strain for immediate use; refrigerate until needed. good for two to three weeks.
The longer the cloves soak, the stronger the solution."

The information above comes from the link below:

Best wishes for your fish.
