Keeping Panda Garra in a 12 inch section of tank?

I have no idea where put this, but this seems about right (by all means, Mods, please move it, if need be ).

Anyway, I have a 20 long, with two 9 inch long sections, and a 12 inch long section. I was wondering, could I buy a trio of Panda Garra's and put them in the 12 inch section?

I can't find anything solid about these guys on the web, so hopefully, one of you guys can help me answer this.

Also, what ever other info you have to offer would be great.

The tank has 2 5-15 AquaTech filters, and a Tom MinI Internal filter, for 1-5 gallon tanks. Stock is 3 Bettas, and 3 small Mystery Snails. I don't mind removing the snail from the larger section, if need be.

Um, I don't think so.
From what I all know on a Panda Garra, they need at least a 30 gallon tank

Panda Garras do tend to bully each other (and other bottom dwellers to a lesser extent), so at least 30x30cm of footprint is advised per fish, with an excess of hidey holes. They will exhibit "greying" (a loss of those vibrant black/cream bands) when fighting and despite having a mouth that does no physical damage, they pyschological bullying has a bad effect on the submissive fish, which is why they should either be kept as singletons or as 3+ groups.

They are pretty active fish, I would not feel comfortable keeping a single one in anything less than a 3-foot tank with plenty of current (~8x water turnover) and a temperature ballpark of 22-25. My one pootles around a 48x12x15 all day long, sharing a tank with various Synodontis, Hoplo Catfish and Ilyodon Goodeids youngsters at the mo.

I have one in my 29 gallon, he is small right now but he is super active, I think I am going to move him to my 75 when he gets a little bigger. I would definitely not keep one in a 20 long because of their activity level. On another note he swims with my cories and hangs out with them when the lights are off. They seem to be good community fish, except when kept with their own kind.

Thanks, guys! Personal experience is exactly what I was looking for. I seem to pick out fish that the internet has very little info on XD

Pet SuperMarket has real little ones, just over and inch, and they are so flippin' cute! But, I shall resist!!! >=O

Just a thought, something else that would work in your tank and is just as cute is a bumble bee goby. Do your research though because supposively there are 2 types, one is brackish and the other can be kept in fresh water. More than likely your lfs won't know the difference. If you look on their underbelly and the stripes connect then that is the species that can be kept in fresh water, if there is a black line dividing the stripes then its the brackish type. I had one for a long time and he was fine but I lost him in the power outage. They are funny little buggers.

Interesting. Thanks! I'm pretty sure Pet SuperMarket has some sort of Bumblebee Gobies, but what type I'm not sure.

I actually ended up with Enders for my 10 gallon, instead XD

I love 'em. Had some earlier this year, but rehomed them to make room for some native Least Killifish from the river when I moved, and I've been missing them ever since lol
