Keeping copepods for mandarin

I seem to have a pretty healthy population of copepods in my new tank and would love to have a mandarin when it's fully established are there any ways I can keep them healthy so the mandarin can feed on them? Can I still clean my glass etc?

You should be able to clean your glass without fear. Copepods typically hang out in the rockwork or shell piles.

I would add phyto plankton to your tank regularly to feed your mandarins.

Okay I bought a bottle of tigger pods was going to add those to make sure I had enough in the tank.

Anything I should "feed" the pods to keep them around?

Sorry, the phytoplankton is for feeding the copepods, not the mandarin!

Reef Nutrition also sells Phyto Feast which you can use to feed the copepods.

Okay cool thanks , I just got home with a 16 oz bottle (only size they had) that should last me a while right?

The guy at the store said to add a couple drops every few days, not what the bottle says

Yes, that should last you quite awhile. I think the employee is correct, you don't need to add the full dose unless you have a heavy coral loaded in your tank.
