Kanaplex Treatment for Betta with Dropsy - No Change - What Next?

I've been treating my male betta for dropsy after noticing bloating and pineconing. I caught it early and have been treating with Kanaplex (per instructions) and an Epsom Salt bath daily. After two rounds of Kanaplex treatments there doesn't seem to be any change, good or bad. He is set up in a shallow hospital tank with Indian leaves and a small air stone. He doesn't really eat his pellets anymore but does eat freeze dried Daphnia and looks eager for them when he sees me feeding. He just lays around all day but not getting worse or better. Any ideas on what to try next?

Increase dosage dramatically or switch drugs. I've mentioned many times that the recommended dosage for Kanaplex is way lower (17-34 times!) than recommended in veterinary books.

Thanks! I increased the dosage the last round of Kanaplex with no change. He's still hanging in there in his shallow hospital tank. I'm giving him a break for a couple of days before trying something else. I have Fish Amoxicillin and Methylene Blue in my first aid kit. What would you try next?

How high of a dose did you go up to?

Are you using a liquid carbon product (Excel, etc.)? They can cause dropsy.

Trimethoprim sulfamethoxazole and ciprofloxacin are what I would try next. I get mine from fishmoxfishflex.

Thanks AvalancheDave! Do you give these two together at the same time or one after the other?

Ordered them and giving Methylene Blue dip while I wait on them to arrive...hope they arrive tomorrow.
