is there anyone who has a juwel rio ?
I just bought a new aquarium (rio 350) and want to ask about the filter ,
My simple question is when you fill the aquarium up , and you getting to the middle of the aquarium with half water is the media chamber getting to the same level of water (as the aquarium) ?or you need to fill all the aquarium for filling that chamber from the top window ?

I have the rio180.

If I recall when you are filling the tank for the first time, you are supposed to pour water into the filter box to make the filter media wet.

On the 180 there is an intake at the top, but on the other side of the filter box there is also an opening at the bottom, so I guess it would fill up that way also.

Thank you for the quick replay !
Exactly , there is an opening windows on the bottom, but they are on the tube pump section !
I just need to know if there is a connecting hole between this chamber to the pump chamber , or may be they are connected from the top , ?

I believe they are connected in some way, because water was coming out into the tank when I was priming the filter via the top of the filter box.

Can you check it for me next time you change the water ? Just want to be sure that there is no problem with my filter , the thing that make me crazy its the instruction of the filter , it looks like there is no connecting from downstairs

There is a hole at the bottom of the filter box that connects the 2 sides, which makes sense really, water comes in through the intake at the top on the media side, goes through the hole at the bottom and then is pumped out the other side.

Yes that I know
The question is when you took out from the water the level of the water inside the filter go down to the same level as the tank ?

There is a way to send p.m in this forum ?

Yes, from what I can tell it appears to do that.
I mean the level of the water in the media chamber not talking about the pump chamber

The media chamber level matches the level of the tank, from what I could see, the lighting is really bad in the corner where my tank is. But when the tank was nearly full I could see the levels matched.

But, as there is a hole going from tank to pump section and a hole on the partition between pump side and media side there is no reason for the water level not to match.

The thing is , there is no hole between the chambers but the tube of the pump coming from the media chamber , the thing is there is a hole on that tube .... but I wasent sure if its correct this hole ... becouse of that I was asking if the level of the media chamber is the same as the tank
