Juwel Rio 180 With External Filter

Hi, I'm picking a juwel 180 on the weekend and I'm after some advice. It comes with an internal filter which looks too small to me so I'm thinking of buying an external filter. My question is does anyone own this tank and do you have an photos of the lid and rear of the tank so I can see where I could hang the inlet and outlet of an external filter? Also are there any braces fitted to these tanks when new? I just want to make sure there's no braces missing when I pick it up. Thanks

I've got the tank now so can answer any questions you've got. There's cut outs in the back either end so you can mount the intake and outlet where you want really. Big brace on the middle of it too. Lighting unit is rubbish though so switching to led.

thanks for that, I did notice the cut outs at the back but didn't know if the top needed to be cut to allow more room for the pipes, ive still got the standard light in mine, its not going to be in use for a few more weeks so I have time to search for options to change these.

 

No further cutting needed for the filter I intend to use. Should be fine. Can't ait to get it up and running now

 

just out of interest which filter are you planning on using? I have already seen one, just curious for other peoples choices.

 

It's a fluval 206 I believe. Got the intake and then a spray bar on the return.
