Juwel Lido 200 Led Upgrade Options?

hey everyone, so, I have a juwel lido 200, have african cichlids, no plants, and I'm looking to upgrade from the standard t5 florescent tubes, and wondering if there are any other options out there? And what people have done?

I want to keep the tank looking original, and don't want any hanging light units, I want to keep it looking like it does now with the closed top and the lights hidden away under the canopy.

The options I have found so far is....
1. Simply Change the flurecent bulbs to arcadia LED t5 tubes.
2. Buy the Juwel helialux LED Light unit.
3. From what I've read the Fluval Aquasky LED units have adaptors to fit existing t5 and t8 units? However I'm not sure if this is 100% correct?

So I'm just wondering if there are any other, or any better options out there?

The Juwel lido is 71cm in length and I believe the existing tubes are 590mm length

HI SmudgeLikeInk
I have a Lido 200 and I put on it made a big difference, depends what you want from an upgrade, more light, less power use, both? Iquatics do a four tube light unit for Juwel, not tried it though.

Hey thanks,
Yeah mainly I want to bring the colour of my fish out more! The engery saving is of course a bonus, and I want the colour of the water to look clear, with my current tubes they’re a little old and starting to make the water look yellow, only looks clear if I turn my blue leds on all the time which is starting to cause a lot of agae growth

I also thought about using the existing t5 unit and taking it aprt and bolting on some other types of LED lights, what's best for colour for cichlids? Marine LEDs or just normal tropical lighting?

So, update on this, I went around a few shops, looking at a few different options, I looked at the fluval aqua sky, the power wasn't as high as the juwel helialux, however significantly cheaper at £77 compared to the juwel helialux at £140, considered getting 2 of the aqua sky as they had a remote for different settings different colours etc however I found that for the sunrise and sunset setting (which I want) it required an extra controller (I knew the juwel needed an extra controller however didnt realise the fluval did too) and for the power difference it didnt seem worth it, although there were lots of settings on the aquasky it was stuff I really wouldnt use, its a nice gimmick, but really don't see when I would start trying to scare my fish with lightning or changing the light to just be red, purple or any other colour, so I decided to just get the juwel Helialux which was designed for my juwel tank, and allows my tank to look like it originally did without chaning the hood etc.
Once changing the units over, I think I expected more, ive seen planted aquariums with LED lights and they look amazing, and I expected the same, although on reflection, I think its to do with the beautiful green that the lights bring out of the plants, my aquarium has white rock with white crushed coral. As time goes on I'm more and more happy with it and the LEDs really do make a difference to the colour of my tank. I haven't yet got the controller but will be purchasing this in the near future.

The pictures show the before and after the led’s although the picture shows it looking slightly more blue, in reality it actually looked more yellow and like id had bogwood or a tea bag in the water, which imwas obviously down to the bulbs, after changing over the water looks crystal clear, in fact, so clear I can actually see the sediment floting around, which I hope will eventually be filtered out!!!
