Just something I thought was funny

Just something I wanted to share and thought it was funny. After feeding the Fish I drop shrimp pellets on the other end and the filter brings them to an open space and man do the Cories all 12 go at it. But one of the Penquins is getting to know what's going on and snatched one out of the air but he couldn't eat it he barely got it into his mouth so he swam around with it in his mouth as open as it could be.

after a while he took a bite and the rest slip out and he caught the rest in mid-air and swan some more and repeated this 3 times. here's a picture of the last piece in his mouth and a couple minutes later he finishes it all. It was about 10 minutes of watching and I wish I video the whole thing.


PS: Those lines you see in the picture are from the filters hitting the water. Every once in a while a day before a WC I take maybe 1.5g out and have the filters hit the water creating lots of bubbles and some of the fish like to play with the bubbles. Believe it or not the DG loves it and he just goes back and forth.

My betta got one piece stuck on his mouth too once,but in the end swallowed it.

 

I've got a 2" Auratus Cichlid that catches a full algae wafer when I drop them in. She swims around with it just like you describe, trying to keep it for herself until one of the bigger fish come and take it away.

 

Ha-ha, that's funny. I have some shrimp with my bettas, and believe it or not they will fight each other for any pellets that fall in the filter flow. When one of them catches a pellet running for it's life, the rest will chase and harass until it's dropped. Sometimes even my betta's will join in the chase to steal a pellet. For some reason, what your neighbor has looks better than what might be easy pickings floating in front of your face......

haha, that why having a good camera and a pair of good hand with a clean glass and clever fish and shinny eyes with quick movement equals good picture plus funny things to share plus good enjoyable memory.
