Just sharing my tanks: 29, 47, 55

Just thought I would share pics and info of my aquariums since I rescape one of them today:

First, here's my old 29. The vals and hygro didn't make it. The tiger lotus on the other hand got so tall I transported it to my 47, the tallest leaf comes up to the top of that 30" tank. It is mostly livebearers and anacharis now but that shall change later on!

An updated shot or two of my 47. It now houses 2 angelfish, still has the rest of the inhabitants like the hatchets, rummies and black neons none can fit in the angel mouths and my angels don't bother them even in such a tight space length-wise.

And my 55, it has 6 lemons, 1 dojo. Coming soon I hope 10-12 kuhlI loaches, some zebra or yoyo loaches and possibly another dojo or 2.

No plants plastic or live, just rocks, wood and a few pots for plenty of hiding spots for loaches as this will be a loach themed tank as I've wanted for awhile.

Thank you all!

I just wanted to comment on my last tank. I wanted a loach themed tank for quite some time and you wouldn't know this but I actually used Butterfly's aquascapes as an inspiration for this set up.

This 55 specially:

Then this one only no plants for mine:

You just wouldn't know it because mine isn't 1/4 as outstanding as those but those were like what I was going for! I just worked with what I had is all.

I still have work to do, I haven't even gotten my loaches yet. Like the airstone and blue or black background in the near future.

Good job! Nice planted tanks! I like the bleak desolate look of the 55 its super cool. I kinda want a similar look to my 55 as well.

Oh man. There are two different lights on this. The one on the left is more yellow while the one on the right is more bluish. I'm thinking the bluish side looks better and I maybe ought to light the whole tank that way lol!

I got a bubble wand...but not sure you can notice the bubbles in the middle with the greyish background.

But I guess once I change the light, that is pretty much the tank, except picture many kuhli's and other loaches in it. Not bad I guess.

I like the crispness of the white look and the dank look of the bluish....your call. Or you could do 10k lights and get the best of both.

What kind of loaches are you getting? I like the blue light too.

Hey I might look into 10K but I guess can't go wrong with either. I'm leaning toward getting another bulb to match the blue. But might get another fixture in case I do decide to do a few anubias or floating plants later on.

I'm thinking of the following and hoping something like it is okay:

3 dojo loaches (have one)
10-12 kuhlI loaches
3 zebra loaches
3 yoyo loaches

I am also considering 1 horseface loach.

I'd love 3 clown loaches sold under 3". They do get huge but from what I understand they grow slow. Can take 4 years for them to reach 5-6" which by then I'll have my 100+ tank I been talking about for years (for real by then) with bala sharks and clown fish. But I'm sure I'd be better off waiting until then to buy them. SO pretty much the list above is what I want to stock with.

Definetly a loach tank. Sure will be busy in there. LOL. I saw some black ones today and boy do they wriggle!

My 55 has T8 10k lights on it. Check out my album for a pic.

I'm hoping to stock the dojo's golden or regular and kuhli's black or banded first, I love them all! I wish I could hold more.

Sharkdude, that honestly has to be one of the coolest collections of fish I've ever come across. You have some very good tanks and species!

I try very hard to keep more uncommon species. My lfs owner hates it! He always complains that I never buy easy stuff to get.lol

Do you happen to have shots of your 37 that I missed? I love mollies.

Looking at my 47, I'm going to rescape that in January (again). Probably change out the amazonia substrate for pool filter sand then get more tall manzanita driftwood and order indian almond leaves and for plants, I'll just use some floating ones. Put peat moss in the canister filter.

Yeah and I'll leave the top open to where the tall driftwood sticks out of the dark blackwater tank. By then I'll mainly have rummies and angels (maybe a ram or two) and I'll use the floating plants and fill the water a bit lower in an effort to ensure none of them jump out of the tank.
