I started my first tank two weeks ago with two baby goldfish: a black moor and an orange/white calico fantail. I've already been thinking ahead to the time when I'll need to upgrade their tank size, so I thought I might as well get a third goldie while they are still all babies. I saw this little one at the LFS today and decided to bring him home.
He looks like a little seal
He is a bit shy but relaxed. He had a swim around looking carefully at everything in the tank and then needed a nap haha. He is tinier than the other two babies, but has a bigger more "butterfly" like tail. Minor spine curvature near the tail, but hopefully that will correct itself as he grows, with better diet and more room to move around.
Also does anyone else have a goldie who likes to sleep with their tummy directly on the gravel? My fantail floats above it, but my black moor likes to sleep on the gravel, which I thought can't be very comfortable. So I bought some moss today and made a little "bed" for him in his favourite sleeping corner (second pic). I know he probably doesn't really need it, but it makes me feel better
