Just Set Up Canister Filter Producing Bubbles

I just set up a marineland magniflow 360 and every 10-20 seconds a few waves of bubbles come out. There seems to be a pocket of air where the intake tube starts (I'm working on attaching a picture or video) that's sending bubbles down the tube. This is my first canister filter, so I have no idea how to go about fixing this. Do I just allow time for the bubbles to pass? Any advice would be great.

 

 

Usually, air pockets form in the intake tube if the actual intake is restricted. Check the strainer inside the tank and make sure that it's clean. Also, shaking the canister itself can free some trapped air bubbles in the filter body.

 

Also Double check the clamps on the hoses, if they are not tight you can get some air bubbles.

 

I've tightened the clamps as tight as they can possibly be and the air pocket has gotten smaller and the bubbles are coming out less frequently. It's still happening though. There's nothing blocking the intake, and shaking it seems to help temporarily.

Normally it is just air pockets which will eventually go away. Not familiar with Marineland but I use Eheims and when I get air spurts/bubbles I tilt the canister side to side (almost 90 degrees) a few times this usually takes care of it. If not you could try to stop and start the motor a few times. Quick search I found this:

I think I've fixed the problem. I did what the guy did in the video below, cut off the ribbed part of the intake pipe and put the tube as far as I could up the pipe then clamped it as tight as possible. There are no more bubbles.
