Just introduced 3 red platys into my 33 gal community tank and everyones getting along fine but my male betta is flashing his gills and kind of stalking them..he hasn't nipped at any of them but if looks like he wants too..I think the platys are way faster anyways and can get away if they felt threatend.. What do you think?

The betta may just be checking them out. I have a betta in a community tank and whenever new fish are added, he "stalks" them for a while, but soon forgets all about them.

Just watch for repeated signs of aggression. If he nips and continues to do so, try taking him out for a few days, then reintroduce him to the tank.

That makes sense he has done that in past,, these are the only fish with real color and I heard that bettas don't like colorful or big finned fish. I'll keep an eye on him thanks for the quick reply

Your welcome! Which reminds me, Welcome to Fishlore!

The betta shouldn't be too bad with platys. Guppies are the only thing that you really have to be careful with.
