I just purchased 2 South American Bumblebee Catfish, and was wondering why they aren't out at all. Haven't even came out for feeding..
They are in a 45 gallon tank with Gold Barbs, candy cane tetras, sterbaI and peppered cories, an Angelfish, a bushy nose pleco, and 1 bolivian ram. I have 2 aqueon quiet flow filters, one is 75 gallons the other is 50 gallons.
Would love any info or advice on these bumble bee catfish.
I was considering BBA they are very cool but something about them. They hide ALWAYS most people avoid them because you will never see them like my clown pleco. Try feeding a night or when the lights are out.

They hide a lot, especially during the day. They usually find a crevice or somewhere to get under and stay there. They are nocturnal so I would advise to add some food when the lights are out. They can occasionally come out during the day when food is present though I would wait for them to get more used to their surroundings before they get that comfortable. They are one of the fish that are very cool to look at (when you can see them), but not entirely cool to keep as they spend so much of their time hiding.

Do you think I could just get a 20 Gallon Fishtank QT and use it longterm? Like maybe using it for Saltwater QT or something? Or would a storage container be better? Like the SC for Freshwater and 20 Gallon for Salt?

Either would work perfectly. I have both. I got the container first as it was cheaper. If you prefer a tank then that is perfectly fine. I prefer the tank too as you can see the fish better and see how healthy they are. It just cost more. Edit* wait a minute this isn't the random discussion.... sorry OP!

Thanks. Appreciate all the info. Sounds like I just need to be patient or use a flashlight at night..
