I’m amazed by the number of people with ”Not Really” as a nickname. Kind of an odd nickname, isn’t it?

I like snow, but I’m just so tired of it by now. Having to walk through 3 1/2 feet of snow in -20F weather (it gets colder, but they cancel school after that) while it’s still dark out to get to the school bus hoping it won’t crash because every road is coated in ice? Fun the first few times, but just meh over time. And being either stuck inside or outside shoveling isn’t very fun either.

-20 is a bit much. It generally doesn’t go below 10F here. Everything else is the same though.
Oh, and the busses will happily drive through the snow because we’re all used to it.

No I just struggle to keep balance even on flat, stable surfaces. Cover that in snow I've lost my only safety

I think that's the frost you're thinking of. No one has ever slipped on a thick layer of fresh snow unless some oaf built a road underneath it!

Those who like snow have never had to drive in it...esoecially with an inch of ice underneath

It also has something to do with whether your car has tires adapted for driving in snow. But fair.

Salt on watermelon doesn't make it sweet. I don't know who passed this bunch of foolishness along. I don't know anyone who does this.

Salt on pineapple actually makes the pineapple sweeter though! I think it only works with Himalayan salt though.

I’m serious when I say Fishlore controls the weather lol. This happened to me 2 times! I said I wanted it to rain and it did, then I said we haven’t had a thunderstorm for a really long time and I miss them, and for the first time in YEARS, we had one!!
So whoever is in charge of weather here, California needs some more rain!! (just not this week bc I’ve got plans that don’t include rain lol)



Also, is there a difference between pop and soda? I thought pop was just another name for soda, but from other people’s replies, it looks like they’re completely different??

Oh, I did experience it enough. Back in the late 80s, bad snow storms, feet deep, drifts over the rooftops. Had my fill.

Even when cooking, a little salt enhances the sweetness. You don't add a lot of salt, but when a watermelon isn't sweet enough, just a little sprinkle helps.

Oh, I did experience it enough. Back in the late 80s, bad snow storms, feet deep, drifts over the rooftops. Had my fill.

Same... I hate hate snow. For me I came from Manitoba, and I experienced -50C to -60C (wind chill included). The snow at where I used to be also got as deep as my knee or deeper; of course, I had to walk to school (pain). With all that snow, it was a lot of snow shovelling too (another "what a pain"). Snow is but a curse. Change my mind.

Snow is beautiful while it is falling and even when it gets a foot or more deep. It stops being beautiful if I have to step out in it and even more so when it melts and leaves a muddy mess behind.

We get more ice than snow here. It too is beautiful when the sun is shining through it and it looks like we are living in a crystal world. Problem is it is also very heavy. So heavy it brings down trees and power lines. Mother natures gives us beautiful things but we must be prepared for the damage that beauty can cause. One year we went 28 days without power after an ice storm.

Fortunately we had a generator so no fish losses. We would run it for a few hours each day. Like run it for an hour. wait a few hours and run it again. We had to be conservative with gas because even the gas stations were having a hard time pumping gas. It was a mess.

We had it better than a lot of folks around us. We heated and cooked with natural gas. We have a backup well for water and that was good because the water and even phones were out. It was one of the worst ice storms I think there had ever been here. Lines were down 100 miles in all directions from us.

Wow, ours never really got that bad. I think my area was already used to it and had counter measures all the time. We had trucks early in the morning spreading salt and sand when it snowed heavy. From time to time the snow is so heavy that we can't open our doors XDDD

Snow indeed is beautiful, but it's more of a book with a beautiful cover but ugly writing. Where I used to live, snow starts around September-October and ends at April-May.

My parents hated it so much we moved XDDD

I guess it’s similar to salt on cantaloupe which my father used to do. I prefer my cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto. Along with a nice bottle of wine, of course!
